2004
The Stanley Ceilidh took place over the weekend of November
5th-7th 2004 in the regular venue, The Tayside Hotel.
|
Enthusiasts from as far afield as Northern Ireland,
Shetland, the Black Isle and the Borders were welcomed
as they arrived on Friday evening. Some of the finest
traditional musicians in the country gave their
time so willingly. Over the course of the weekend
a total of forty four musicians took to the stage
all in the name of having a good tune, a few drinks,
meeting old and new friends and helping to raise
a few pounds for charity.
|
|
As a result of the generosity of all who attended, the
grand sum of £1,500.00 was raised for handicapped
childrens' charities in the Perthshire area.
Our Saturday night dance was a great success with a fabulous
night's entertainment from Craig McCallum and his Broadcasting
Band. Next year we are delighted to have Bill Black and
his Scottish Dance Band to play for the dance.
I'd like to express my thanks to all involved over the
weekend, be they enthusiasts, musicians or anyone who
helped in any way.
Next year, same place, same weekend. The dates for your
diary are Friday 4th and Saturday 5th of November 2005.
Hope to see you all there.
Cheers
Iain
